“My time at Sheridan taught me how to work with different types of people. Especially in storyboarding where you have to work in a team. I think it’s just a place where I found my tribe of people. I found my friends that [...] I still keep in touch with seven years later – like-minded people that care about the things I care about. We push each other constantly to try to get better.”

Domee Shi (Animation '11) Academy Award winner, Storyboard Artist and Director of Turning Red, Pixar

Racial justice

Sheridan denounces historical and institutionalized injustices that disproportionately impact Black, Indigenous and People of Colour and acknowledges that people of privilege have an obligation to disrupt and deconstruct systemic bias. We continue to take actionable steps such as required anti-oppression, anti-racism and unconscious bias training, hiring Black, Indigenous and racialized faculty, creating bursaries and mentorship programs for Black students and intentionally engaging racialized community members to inform our future actions and assess our efficacy.
