“I remember, as a high school student, touring Sheridan for the first time. Our tour guide was studying animation, and they completely changed my outlook on what I could accomplish in the program. They were able to give me personal advice about what they liked about the program, and their challenges. They inspired me to become a STAR (Student Admission Representative) at Sheridan, so I could help other Sheridan students.”
Jasmine Bournes (Bachelor of Animation, 3rd year)
“Being a Resident Advisor was truly life changing for me. I was a very reserved person and taking that responsibility forced me to burst out of my bubble and be able to improve other student experiences and make a lot of friends.”
Ramzy Ganady (Electromechanical Engineering Technology ’20)
Peer Mentors
(students helping students)
Peer Mentors are senior students hired to support new students transition well to postsecondary life and connect all students to opportunities to lead, engage and volunteer at Sheridan. Peer Mentors plan activities, develop workshops, host virtual hangouts and meet students 1:1 and in small groups.
“The Library Services have been invaluable during my time at Sheridan – I’m constantly using the in-person and online supports. As an Interior Design student, the Material ConneXion Library has been especially helpful. In every class I’ve had, a staff member from the Library Services team has visited us at the beginning of the semester to let us know how we can use their services to our full potential. It’s such a personal experience, and so useful.”
Jocleyn Huot (Bachelor of Interior Design, 2nd year)
